  i have lurked now and then, just decided to join.. my older brother and i were raised by our jw mom, but our dad was a non-practicing catholic.

  so we went to the hall, but were considered "weak" witnesses, since our family still celebrated xmas and birthdays, to appease my dad i suppose.

  as a kid, i loved these holidays.. anyways, when my brother was 17 (i was 13), he spent a few weeks with our cousins in ky, who are all gung-ho j-dubs, and upon his return, he decided he was going to be more "theocratic".

  I finsished reading Crisis of Conscience, and am on to In Search of Christian Freedom too! On Chapter 3 actually! Raymond Franz was such a great person. I will always look up to him!

  I found out a JW friend of mine has an addiction to torturing animals!

  last night i found out a close jw friend of mine takes delight in watching animal torture.

  i am an animal lover, and i dont know what to think.

  i dont want to end our friendship because this friend has been very accepting of me.

  i was actually at a circuit assembly once(in a big city one of the top 3 size wise) and the speaker brought up ellen degeneres, and he called her ellen degenerate from the platform.

  wouldn't it be cool if the pope did an expose thing about the catholic church and all the heirarchies/inside secrets, etc., like ray franz did when he exposed the inner workings at the highest level of the jw religion?

  Does anyone know of I high ranking elder in the Canada region named Lorne Morton?

  supposedly he was one of the most well known elders living in canada in the second half of the 20th century.

  he lived in winnipeg for quite a time frome what i hear.

  any of you guys heard of him?.

  Well I guess it depends on things and where you live. He was a missionary in Quebec for a few years too. Generally he was most well known in Manitoba and Saskatchawan, but a lot of people know him in other places in Canada too. Especially other higher ranking elders. Although he was pretty much the top dog in Manitoba and Saskatchawan from what I heard
